STRÄTA DOESN’T DO PERFECT
I’m Marine, a French artist creating on the Mornington Peninsula.
I draw the way I did as a child, instinctively. Then I build structure around it.
Strong forms. Limited colour. Rigid compositions. A framework that holds the instinct without taming it.
Linocut makes perfect sense to me. The process demands precision, patience and control, yet the result never fully obeys.
Ink shifts, texture appears, imperfections remain.
It sits exactly where I do, somewhere between control and instinct.
STRÄTA means layers. Different parts of myself, contrasting yet existing together.
French born. Australian made.
